overview

Item-based LEO badge system with server-side verification and animated display

FX-POLICEBADGE is an inventory item that allows law enforcement officers to display their badge to other players. When used, the officer's character performs an animation while holding the badge prop, and a card displays on screen for players standing in front of them. The badge card contains rank, full name, department, badge number and validity dates—all generated server-side from your framework's data. Viewers can close the card with ESC or BACKSPACE.

All badge information is produced server-side; the client sends no text. Server-side distance and facing checks determine who can see the badge, preventing clients from manipulating the viewer list. The card is rendered from measured wallet photography with responsive text scaling, maintaining identical appearance at any resolution.

  • Client sends no text whatsoever
  • Server-side distance and facing checks decide who sees the badge

  • Job-type permissions so every LEO department works out of the box
  • Per-department card content: name, short code, division and rank overrides

  • Badge number and issue date derived from character, stable forever, no database
  • Item metadata can override the badge number

Card Display and Design

  • Card measured from wallet artwork, identical at every resolution
  • Long rank, name or department text scaled to fit instead of clipped
  • Seven optional card fields, each switchable with layout re-centring
  • Guilloche security pattern and lamination sweep on open
  • Embedded font, approximately 190 KB—no external font request leaves the machine
