overview

Advanced chat system with live command suggestions and roleplay features for FiveM

FX-Chat replaces the default FiveM chat with a command-aware system featuring live command suggestions filtered as you type, with descriptions and permission checking. The resource includes two draggable panels: a command line with message flow on the left, and an optional general chat window with history, GIF support and slow mode on the right. Both panels remember their position per player.

Roleplay actions (/me and /do) render above the character's head in 3D as well as in chat, with configurable colours, distances, cooldowns and an anonymous mask option. Job channels route by QB job type rather than job name, so a single /pdchat entry covers all police departments. All validation occurs server-side with no client-side trust, including text length, permissions, distance and message recipients.

  • 01Live command suggestions pulled from every registered server command, filtered as you type
  • 02Command descriptions shown next to suggestions, with ACE permission checking
  • 03Slashless commands: type 'car t20' instead of '/car t20'
  • 04Separate general chat window with history, slow mode and GIF search via Tenor
  • 05Both panels draggable with per-player position memory
  • 06/me and /do actions render in 3D above character head with custom colours and distances
  • 07Job channels routed by QB job type, covering all departments with one entry
  • 08Badge displays department, rank and server ID for job channel messages
  • 09Typing indicator visible above player head within configurable radius
  • 10Built-in games: Rock Paper Scissors and Dice with server-side results
  • 11Emoji picker and optional GIF spoiler mode
  • 12Periodic server announcements in random or sequential order
  • 13Per-player rate limiting on actions and messages

  • Idle CPU fixed. The client key loop ran at Wait(0), so it burned a frame slot on every player forever and the resource never dropped below 0.01 ms in the resource monitor even with the chat closed. It now polls at 100 ms while the chat is closed and 50 ms while it is open, which reads as 0.00 ms idle. Nothing was removed: the T fallback that opens the chat when another resource disables the controls (death screens, handcuffs, animations) and the raw-ESC emergency close both work exactly as before.

  • Fixed: closing the chat with ESC while the open key was still held reopened it instantly. The key now has to be released once before it counts as a new press.
  • The input box fades in when the chat opens (0.16s), so the slower key poll comes across as an animation instead of a delay.
  • UPGRADING: drop in the three files below. No config change, no new setting — configs/ and locales/ are untouched.
